Institute of Automation

  Supported by Beijing University Of Chemical Technology, the Institute of Automation has a doctoral-level discipline of Control Science and Engineering, a master-level discipline of Control Science and Engineering (including Control Theory and Control Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.), a Post-doctoral Station of Control Science and Engineering . 
   
  The Institute of Automation has a highly professional and rational faculty, owning 7 professors, 4 associate professors, and 1 instructor, including 8 Ph.D. advisers. In addition to having two overseas returnees from famous overseas universities, the institute is also characterized by most of the faculty members with doctorial degrees of domestic key universities such as Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Northeastern University, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and so on. 

  There are totally over 80 graduated students and 10 PhD candidates studying in the institute. The student’s comprehensive quality, especially research capability and innovation thinking is highly emphasized. The Institute of Automation will insist on training outstanding students and creating excellent achievements. Any student or postdoc with hard-working spirit and strong research interests is welcome to join us.

 The institute has 3 laboratories and 5 main researches fields & Projects including    

Optimization and Advanced Control 
    Study on theories and techniques of system optimization, advance control algorithm, computer network management and information integrated technology applied to industrial processes.

 Microscopic Quality Control for Polymerization Processes

    Study on theoretical model and control strategy consisting of pattern recognition and expert system for on-line quality control in polymerization processes.

 

Pattern Recognition &System Integration
    Study on the techniques of data acquisition, processing and fault diagnosis in the real-time process, and develop the real-time database system and computer schedule management system.

Health Informatics and Intelligent Decision-Making (HIIDM)
    Study on automation theory and its application in medical field and intelligent decision-making problems. The main research interests include health informatics (artificial pancreas, intensive care unit, and anesthesia process).

Networked Control
    Study on networked control systems, robust control/filter theory, singular system, fuzzy control, and stochastic systems.


Intelligent Manufacturing of Complex Production Process and Robotics

Study on Intelligent Planning and Scheduling theory, the Theory and Technology of Intelligent Operational Optimization for Complex Production Process; Innovation and Optimization of Intelligent Robots Configurational Design, the Theory and method of Autonomous Behavior of advanced robot.
